Fitness has always been a huge part of my life. In college I discovered strength and conditioning, and knew that’s what I was meant to do. I did internships with Oregon State strength and conditioning, Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning in Boston, MA, and Athletes’ Performance (AP) in Phoenix, AZ. I absolutely fell in love with AP. Not just training the professional athletes (which was obviously awesome), but the people I was working with were the best and brightest in the field of strength and conditioning. I knew that everyday would be a learning opportunity. They were also some of the most wonderful people I had ever had the opportunity to work with, and I knew I had to be a part of it.

A couple weeks after my internship ended I got a call about an opportunity to coach at AP’s new venture Core Performance Center (CPC) in Santa Monica, CA. I was living in Seattle, WA at the time, working at a facility as a personal trainer, and I knew I had to jump at the opportunity to work with my dream company again, so I went for it.

2 weeks later, I had packed all my belongings and drove a U-Haul truck from Seattle, WA to Santa Monica, CA to move into an apartment I had never seen before, with a girl I’d never met before, to start a brand new job…. Needless to say, it was a bit stressful.

Fast forward 2.5 years and here I am, starting my own personal training business. Unfortunately, CPC had to shut its doors. They are flourishing in the corporate wellness industry, we just couldn’t get the public facility to succeed. I wouldn’t trade the last 2.5 years for anything. I learned a ton about business, how to manage people, movement, and physical therapy. I’ve also made some friends, who I know will be life long.

So that’s my story (the short version anyway)…. My passion in life is fitness and nutrition. I want to touch as many lives as possible, and help make this world a healthier, happier place.
